Objective: By the end of this lesson you can decide, for any transformed function on the Digital SAT: whether a change is written inside or outside the function, whether that makes it horizontal or vertical, which way a horizontal change actually moves the graph, whether a factor stretches or compresses, which axis a minus sign reflects across, what happens to intercepts, vertices, maxima, domain and range, how to recover the original function from a transformed graph or table, and how to unpack \(f(2x-10)\) without falling for the order trap - across all six levels, from sorting inside against outside at Level 1 to controlling composed transformations under time pressure at Level 6.
