Advanced Math | Growth Factors, Doubling Time & Linear-vs-Exponential Models
Advanced Math | Growth factors, doubling time and linear-vs-exponential models
Lesson Review Available
Review the foundation notes with TTA Pro Mr.O before solving. If this skill drill is part of an anchor lesson, the notes stay available during practice.
Objective: By the end of this lesson you can name the two ways a quantity can change over equal steps and state both formulas from memory (Remember); explain in your own words why repeated multiplying bends a graph and why a 6% rise is a factor of 1.06 rather than 0.06 (Understand); run the six core procedures - table test, percent-to-factor, description-to-equation, two-points-to-equation, half-life and doubling form, and rewriting a model over a different time unit (Apply); take a disguised stem apart to find which clause carries the model type, which carries a, which carries b and which carries the growth period, and locate the crossover between a linear and an exponential model (Analyse); judge whether a proposed model is correct using three fixed tests and decide which of two models a set of data supports (Evaluate); and build a model to order that satisfies several constraints at once, including one stated in a different time unit (Create).
