To convert an ACT score to the SAT, use the official 2018 concordance table from ACT and College Board. Find your ACT Composite score in the chart below. The middle column is the single SAT score to use, and the last column is the matching SAT range. For example, a 30 ACT equals a 1370 SAT (range 1360 to 1380).
Short answer: this is still the only official ACT to SAT conversion in 2026-27. ACT says the tables were "released in 2018" and are "not updated annually." To decide which test to take, read our ACT vs SAT guide. To convert a single score, use our free SAT and ACT conversion calculator.

How does ACT to SAT conversion work?
The chart lines up scores with the same percentile rank. The College Board guide says the tables "show ACT and SAT scores with the same percentile rank for a group of students who took both tests." That group was 589,753 students who graduated in 2017 and took both tests between early 2016 and June 2017.

Use the right column for the job:
- Single score. The guide marks it: "Use this SAT score when a single score point comparison is needed." Use it when a form asks for one number.
- Range. One ACT score covers several SAT scores, because the SAT scale has more steps. A 27 ACT matches anything from 1260 to 1290.
A converted score is not a prediction. In the guide's words: "A concorded score is not a perfect prediction of how a student would perform on the other test." Your real SAT score could land above or below the chart.
Is the 2018 chart still right for the digital SAT and the enhanced ACT?
Yes. The 2018 tables are still the latest, and both test makers say their current scores line up with their older ones.
- Digital SAT. College Board's digital SAT concordance study found that "scores from the digital SAT can be used in the same manner as scores from the paper-based SAT."
- Enhanced ACT. Since tests given in September 2025, the ACT Composite is the average of English, math and reading only. Science is optional and reported on its own. ACT's FAQ for colleges answers the concordance question: "we believe that the concordance will hold (much as College Board did when they switched to an ALL digital, adaptive assessment)."
- Older ACT scores. ACT says: "Scores from tests taken prior to September 2025 will remain unchanged and will not be recalculated."
ACT also says it "will continue to work with the College Board on our regular cadence of review for our concordance agreements."

Can you combine ACT and SAT scores into one superscore?
No. The College Board guide says: "Institutions should not superscore across the SAT and ACT tests." A superscore means your best section scores from several test dates put together. So compare your best ACT and your best SAT with the chart, and do not mix sections from the two tests.

How we built this page
We copied the chart from ACT's official concordance page (Table A2 and Table B2) and checked every row, by script, against the College Board "Guide to the 2018 ACT/SAT Concordance" PDF. Table A2 was also checked against ACT's concordance tables PDF. All sources match. We also checked all 36 possible TTA per-score page addresses: pages for ACT 12 to 36 load and state the same SAT score and range as the official table; addresses for ACT 1 to 11 do not exist, so those rows are not linked. Facts about the digital SAT and the enhanced ACT come from College Board's digital SAT concordance study and ACT's FAQ for colleges. The Test Advantage is not affiliated with ACT or College Board. Verified 2026-10-13.
