The full answer key for Practice Test 4
Every letter and grid-in below comes straight from the official scoring key for this form — all six modules: Reading and Writing Module 1 plus both Module 2 branches, and Math Module 1 plus both Module 2 branches. When you took the test in Bluebook you saw one Module 2 in each section, not both, so check the module that matches the branch you were routed to. Not sure which branch you got? The adaptive-branch breakdown for this test shows how to tell. For Math grid-ins, every accepted form is listed — any one of them scores the point.

How Practice Test 4 is built
Practice Test 4 follows the standard Digital SAT shape. You sit four scored modules — two Reading and Writing, then two Math — with a 10-minute break between the sections. Each Reading and Writing module is 27 questions in 32 minutes; each Math module is 22 questions in 35 minutes. That is 98 scored questions in 2 hours 14 minutes of testing time.
| Stage | Questions | Time | Adaptive? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reading and Writing — Module 1 | 27 | 32 min | Same for everyone |
| Reading and Writing — Module 2 | 27 | 32 min | Branch set by your Module 1 |
| Break | — | 10 min | — |
| Math — Module 1 | 22 | 35 min | Same for everyone |
| Math — Module 2 | 22 | 35 min | Branch set by your Math Module 1 |
The adaptive rule is the part students most often misunderstand, so here it is plainly: Bluebook scores your Module 1 as you go, and your Module 1 performance decides whether your Module 2 is the easier branch (2A above) or the harder branch (2B). Reading and Writing and Math branch independently — you can land on the harder English branch and the easier Math branch in the same sitting. Getting the harder branch is good news for your score ceiling, not a punishment. This form has a documented quirk: one passage — a Cassini item — appears on both Reading and Writing branches, printed at question 20 of Module 2A and question 18 of Module 2B. If you remember that passage, its position is a clean tell for which branch you sat; the branch post works through the rest of the tells. The full comparison — real paired questions from both branches of this form — is in How the Adaptive Branch Worked on Digital SAT Practice Test 4.
How to take Practice Test 4 in Bluebook
Bluebook is the College Board’s testing app — the same one used on the actual test day — and the practice tests inside it are the closest thing to a dress rehearsal you can get for free. Here is the clean way to run it:
- Open Bluebook and go to Practice and Prepare. Full-length practice tests are listed there. College Board rotates the lineup from time to time; if this test is not listed in your app version, the form itself does not change — the keys and walkthroughs on this page still match it as printed.
- Take it in one sitting, timed. The module timers are the point. An untimed run tells you what you know; only a timed run tells you what you can do in 32 and 35 minutes.
- Use the built-in tools the way you will on test day. The Desmos graphing calculator is embedded in the Math section, annotation and the answer eliminator work in Reading and Writing, and Mark for Review lets you flag and return within a module. Practice with them now so none of it is new on test day.
- Do not check answers mid-test. The branch routing only means something if Module 1 was a real attempt.
- When you finish, come back here. Bluebook shows your score; this page and the four walkthroughs show the why behind every question you missed.
What is on the Reading and Writing modules
Every Reading and Writing module runs its questions in the same fixed domain order — Craft and Structure first (vocabulary in context, purpose, cross-text connections), then Information and Ideas (central ideas, evidence, inferences), then Standard English Conventions (grammar and punctuation), then Expression of Ideas (transitions and rhetorical synthesis). We keep the domain claims on this page deliberately coarse for this form: our per-question reference map for it did not survive verification cleanly, and we only print what we can stand behind. The walkthrough posts below quote the actual questions, which is better evidence than any label.
A note on why this page does not print a per-question domain table for this form: our per-question reference map for it came back with verification errors, and we only publish labels we can stand behind. The walkthrough posts quote each actual question, which is stronger evidence than any label — including the Module 1 walkthrough’s HTML rebuild of the bar graph at question 11, the one figure-based item people ask about most on this form.
Grammar deserves its own callout. The Standard English Conventions stretch is the most learnable part of the whole English section — a small set of rules covers it — and this form’s conventions questions are worked one by one in Digital SAT Practice Test 4: Standard English Conventions Walkthrough. Keep the site’s 15-rule SAT grammar cheat sheet open next to it; the walkthrough names the rule behind each answer, and the cheat sheet is where those rules live. If conventions cost you points here, practicing that one domain in the Digital SAT question banks is the highest-leverage hour you can spend before your next full test.
What is on the Math modules
Digital SAT Math draws from four domains: Algebra (linear equations, systems, inequalities), Advanced Math (quadratics, exponentials, function work), Problem-Solving and Data Analysis (ratios, percentages, statistics, data displays), and Geometry and Trigonometry. Most questions are multiple choice; a minority are grid-ins where you type the answer yourself — that is why some rows in the Math key above list several accepted forms. Any listed form earns the point, so a correct fraction and its decimal are equally right.
The same standard applies to Math: no verified per-question domain map exists for this form’s Math modules, so we name the four domains and let the walkthrough do the precise work. The Math walkthrough for this test works actual questions from this form domain by domain, and gives the embedded-Desmos route alongside the by-hand route wherever the calculator is genuinely faster — on the Digital SAT, knowing when to reach for Desmos is a scored skill in all but name.

How to review your Practice Test 4 results
Bluebook hands you a scaled score and a question list. Most students glance at the number and move on — which throws away the only part of a practice test that raises your next score. Do this instead:
- Log every miss against the key above — module, question number, and the domain if this page lists it. Patterns show up fast: three conventions misses is not three separate problems, it is one rule gap.
- Sort misses into “did not know” vs “knew but rushed.” The first kind sends you to the walkthroughs and the grammar cheat sheet. The second kind is a pacing problem, and the fix is timed module practice, not more content review.
- Reread the walkthrough for every miss in your worst domain — not just the questions you got wrong. Seeing the same trap engineered into questions you happened to get right is how you stop it from working on you on test day.
- Estimate your scaled score honestly. College Board does not publish a fixed raw-to-scaled table for adaptive forms — the conversion depends on which branches you sat — so treat any single number as an estimate. The site’s Digital SAT score calculator gives you a sensible one from your raw counts.
- Then take another full test. The site’s free practice tests give you fresh full-length forms once the official ones run out.
A miss-log you can copy
Copy this into your notes app or onto paper — one row per miss, straight from the key tables above. The Fix column is the only one that raises your next score: name the exact walkthrough section, cheat-sheet rule, or drill you will use, not a vague “review grammar.”
| Module | Q# | My answer | Key | Why I missed it | Rushed or unknown? | Fix |

Questions students ask about Practice Test 4
What are the answers to Digital SAT Practice Test 4?
All six module keys are in the tables at the top of this page — Reading and Writing Modules 1, 2A and 2B, and Math Modules 1, 2A and 2B — transcribed from the official scoring key. In Bluebook you sat only one Module 2 per section, so score yourself against the branch you were actually routed to; the branch post linked above shows you how to tell which one that was.
Is Practice Test 4 harder than the earlier practice tests?
College Board does not publish difficulty rankings for its practice forms, and adaptive scoring is built to absorb form differences, so we will not rank them for you. If this one felt harder, check which Module 2 branches you landed on before drawing conclusions — the harder branch on any form feels like a harder test.
What raw score is a 1550 on Practice Test 4?
No fixed table exists that we can honestly print: on an adaptive form the conversion depends on which Module 2 branches you sat, not just your raw count. For a sensible estimate from your raw numbers, use the Digital SAT score calculator.
Which question types repeat on Practice Test 4?
The standard Digital SAT families all appear — vocabulary in context, purpose and structure, evidence and inference, conventions, transitions, and rhetorical synthesis in English; the four Math domains on the Math side. One literal repeat is documented above: the Cassini passage prints on both English branches, in different slots.
Where are the Practice Test 4 Module 2 explanations?
Both Module 2 branches are keyed in full on this page. For worked items, the adaptive-branch post works matched pairs from both English branches, and the conventions walkthrough covers every grammar item on both branches.
How many questions does Practice Test 4 have?
98 scored questions in your sitting: two Reading and Writing modules of 27 questions in 32 minutes each, then two Math modules of 22 questions in 35 minutes each, with a 10-minute break between sections — 2 hours 14 minutes of testing. This page keys all six modules because both branches exist on the form.
Should Practice Test 4 be my last practice test?
There is no magic ordering, but a sensible plan saves one unused official form for a full dress rehearsal in the final stretch. If this is the one you saved, take it timed and in one sitting, and leave enough days before test day to review the misses properly — the review is where the points are.
Does Practice Test 4 match the current SAT format?
Yes — adaptive branching, 98 scored questions, module timing, and the embedded Desmos calculator in Math all match the current Digital SAT. College Board rotates which forms appear inside Bluebook, so check the Practice and Prepare tab for the current lineup; the keys and walkthroughs here match the form as printed either way.
