Our November 2026 SAT vocab predictions come from the repeat history of our own question banks. Across 22 English question banks, 41% of Words in Context questions (338 of 829) are exact repeats of a question in another bank, compared with 28% of all English questions, so the vocabulary questions most likely to return on November 7 are the ones that have already come back before.

What are our November 2026 SAT vocab predictions?

We predict that Words in Context questions that have already repeated in our banks are the vocabulary questions most likely to reappear on November 7, 2026. Three results from our analysis point that way.

  • Words in Context repeats more often than most skills. In our 22 English banks, 338 of 829 Words in Context questions (41%) belong to an exact-repeat group, while across all 5,765 English questions only 1,610 do (28%).
  • Repetition predicts further repetition. Across all English questions, a question seen on one test date reappeared on a given later date 1.4% of the time; after two dates the rate rose to 2.5%, after three to 6.4%, and after four or more to 19.4% (a small sample of 67).
  • A core group keeps returning. Of the 338 repeated Words in Context questions, 79 belong to groups that appeared on three or more separate test dates, and those are the questions we would study first.

An "exact repeat" requires the same passage, the same question wording, the same answer choices and the same correct answer, so a question with even one altered choice does not qualify, so our counts err on the low side. Our November 2026 SAT prediction covers every English skill, and our SAT predictions 2026 hub explains the full method.

How much of the SAT is vocabulary?

Vocabulary belongs to Craft and Structure, one of the four Reading and Writing domains, which the College Board says accounts for about 28% of the section. The College Board lists three skills in that domain: Words in Context, Text Structure and Purpose, and Cross-Text Connections (College Board Reading and Writing specifications).

The College Board describes the domain as requiring students to use and determine the meaning of "high-utility academic words and phrases in context," so on test day you need to choose the word that fits a particular sentence, and an obscure memorized definition will help you less than sentence clues will. The Reading and Writing section contains 54 questions in 64 minutes, divided into two 32-minute modules (How the SAT Is Structured).

In our banks, Words in Context represents 829 of 5,765 English questions, or 14.4%, which would correspond to about 8 questions in a 54-question section. Our banks combine many test forms, so treat that estimate as an approximate guide.

Which question banks have the most Words in Context questions?

By count, the November 2026 prediction bank contains the most Words in Context questions, with 115; among the regular monthly banks, June US 2026 has the highest proportion.

Question bankEnglish questionsWords in Context questionsWords in Context share
November 2026 prediction bank57411520.0%
June US 20262635420.5%
October 20263005317.7%
November 20243084715.3%
September 20263665515.0%
November 20253995814.5%
All 22 regular English banks5,76582914.4%

For whole-bank practice, our November prediction ranked the earlier banks in this order: November 2025, September 2026, June US 2026, November 2024 and October 2026. That ranking combines how recent each bank is with how many of its questions had already repeated, and every bank appears on our SAT question bank page.

Is there a November pattern for SAT vocabulary?

No, our data shows no November effect for vocabulary. Our November 2024 bank contained 4 Words in Context questions repeated from earlier banks, and our November 2025 bank contained 6, which is far too few to support any seasonal rule.

The interval between test dates mattered little as well: across all English questions, the repeat rate per later test date remained between 1.0% and 2.2% whether the gap was one month or more than two years. Repeats tend to arrive in bursts from one particular earlier form, so the most reliable signal is a question's own repeat record.

How we built this page

Verified 2026-10-22. The bank list, the Words in Context counts and the prediction bank's contents come from read-only queries we ran on our live question-bank database on 2026-10-22, covering the 22 active English question banks (prediction banks excluded) and the skill tag "Domain 2 | Words in Context." Exact-repeat groups and repeat rates come from our 2026-10-15 analysis of the same banks, which matches questions by passage, wording, answer choices and correct answer. Test facts come from College Board pages fetched on 2026-10-22. We do not reproduce any question, passage or answer choice from our banks, and every prediction here is a prediction, not a leak and not a guarantee.
