Does UCF require the SAT?

Yes. UCF says all freshmen must submit an official SAT, ACT or CLT score. Like every Florida public university, UCF follows the state rule that first-year students submit one of these tests.

  • No minimum score: UCF has no cutoff, but says scores must be competitive with the applicant pool.
  • Superscoring: UCF superscores the SAT and ACT and has no preference between them.
  • Official scores: must come directly from the testing agency, and can take up to 7 business days to process.
  • Score age: SAT and ACT scores count if taken within the last five years.
  • SAT code: 5233.

UCF’s own newer numbers: for students offered admission for summer and fall 2026, UCF reports a middle 50% SAT of 1310 to 1420. That is higher than the older College Scorecard range above, which covers enrolled students. UCF admitted 28,612 of 70,030 applicants for 2026. UCF’s Burnett Honors College freshmen averaged a 1466 SAT in fall 2025.

What SAT score should you aim for?

For a current application, aim for 1310 or higher, the bottom of UCF’s 2026 admitted range. At 1420 or higher you are in the top quarter of admitted students. If you want the Burnett Honors College, plan on about 1466 or higher, its fall 2025 freshman average.

UCF’s admitted students also had recalculated core GPAs of 4.11 to 4.57. Because UCF superscores, a retake that raises only one section still lifts your UCF score.
