UF SAT scores by section
| Section | 25th percentile | 75th percentile |

| Math | 660 | 750 |
| Total (sum of sections) | 1320 | 1480 |
The total row adds the two section numbers, so treat it as a close estimate, not an exact percentile of total scores. For comparison, the average SAT score for the class of 2026 was 1045 (528 Reading and Writing, 517 Math), according to College Board.
Does UF require the SAT?
Yes. UF says all freshman applicants must submit SAT, ACT or CLT scores. This is required by Florida Board of Governors regulation 6.002, so it applies to every public university in Florida.
- Superscoring: UF superscores, taking your highest score in each section across test dates.
- Self-report allowed: you can send scores from the testing agency or self-report them on your application status page.
- No test preference: the SAT, ACT and CLT are treated the same.
- ACT Science and essay: not required.
UF’s own newer number: UF reports a middle 50% SAT of 1420 to 1520 for admitted students in the Class of 2030 (data as of July 2026). That is higher than the College Scorecard range above, which covers enrolled students from an earlier year. For a current application, use UF’s 1420 to 1520.
What SAT score should you aim for?
For UF, aim for 1420 or higher, the bottom of UF’s own admitted range for the Class of 2030. At 1520 or higher you are in the top quarter of admitted students. UF’s admitted students also had GPAs of 4.5 to 4.7 (weighted), so a strong score works best alongside a strong course record.
Because UF superscores, a retake that raises only your weaker section still raises your UF score. The Scorecard numbers show UF students slightly stronger in Math (660 to 750) than Reading and Writing (660 to 730).
