How do reach, target and likely work at 1100?
Every college profile on The Test Advantage uses one rule. Below the 25th percentile is a reach, inside the range is in range, and above the 75th percentile is likely. We use the same rule here, so these counts match the profiles.
Acceptance rate matters too. Three colleges have an 1100 in range but admit fewer than half of applicants:
- Howard University: range 1090 to 1320, acceptance rate 41.3%.
- CUNY Bernard M Baruch College: range 1100 to 1400, acceptance rate 47.5%.
- North Carolina A & T State University: range 1020 to 1190, acceptance rate 49.9%.
Treat these three as reaches even though your score fits. Your grades, classes and essays will carry more weight there.
Which colleges are likely with an 1100?
Six colleges on the list have a 75th percentile below 1100. At each one, an 1100 beats at least three quarters of the reported scores.

Should you send an 1100 to colleges?
Compare your score to each college's range. In the upper half of the range, an 1100 helps your application. Below the 25th percentile, it may not. Each college sets its own testing rules and can change them from year to year. The College Scorecard data does not include those rules, so check each college's admissions site before you decide.
Build a mix: a few likely colleges, several in-range colleges and one or two reaches. With an 1100, the in-range group is large, so most of your list can come from it.
How we built this page
Verified 2026-10-13. We fetched all 265 college profiles at thetestadvantage.com/colleges and read each SAT range, acceptance rate and net price. We checked all 192 SAT ranges against the College Scorecard API the same day, and every one matched. The College Scorecard says it last updated its data on June 10, 2026. Each range adds the college's Reading and Writing and Math percentiles, so it estimates the total score range. Percentiles come from College Board. Question counts come from The Test Advantage's own question bank. Numbers are per the college profile on The Test Advantage, and a college's own site may show a newer range.
