What is the deadline to register for the November SAT?
Friday, October 23, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. ET. From October 13, you have 10 days.
Miss it, and late registration runs until Tuesday, October 27. College Board's test fees page adds a $38 late fee to the $68 registration fee, so a late U.S. registration costs $106. Outside the U.S., you also pay an international fee of $43. Our SAT cost guide lists the rest.
College Board says online registration takes about 30 minutes. You register yourself, because a parent or counselor cannot do it for you. You also upload a photo and pick a test center. Our page on the last day to register for the SAT covers every deadline rule.

Using a fee waiver? College Board's fee waiver page asks you to request it "at least 1–2 weeks before the registration deadline."
Can you still borrow a device for the November SAT?
Not on the normal timeline. College Board asks students to register and request a device "at least 30 days before test day." For November 7, that day was October 8.
If you need a loaner, aim for December 5. Its 30-day cutoff is Thursday, November 5, 2026.
When do November SAT scores come out?
Students get November 7 scores on Friday, November 20, 2026. Schools get them in the K-12 portal on Monday, November 23.
College Board's blog post on score release says: "Some scores are released as early as 6 a.m. and all scores are generally available by 8 p.m. on release day." It names no time zone. Our guide to what time SAT scores are released explains the waves. College Board's help center says you get an email at your account address when scores are ready.
Colleges see your score later. College Board forwards scores to the colleges you pick "within 10-12 days after the scores are out." Your first 4 score reports are free if you order them by 9 days after the test, which for November 7 means November 16.
Is the November SAT too late for college applications?
It depends on the college. College Board's November page says these scores arrive "just in time for regular decision." It makes no promise about early deadlines.
Do the math. Scores come out November 20, and colleges get them 10 to 12 days later, so around the start of December. Check each college's deadline and score policy before you count on November. If you need one more try, College Board calls December 5 the "Last Test Before College Deadlines."
What if you miss the November SAT deadline?
- Register late by October 27 and pay the $38 late fee.
- If you test in the U.S., join the Waitlist. College Board lists it at $0, and it can place you in an open seat near you.
- Pick a later date. December 5 has a November 20 deadline. The next weekend SAT after that is March 6, 2027 (see 2027 SAT test dates).
To move from November to another date, College Board's registration change page says you "must cancel and register for a new test." Canceling costs $34 by October 27 and $44 after that, until Thursday, November 5.
How should you use the weeks before November 7?
From October 13, you have 25 days. Use them in this order:
- Get a week-by-week schedule from the free SAT study plan generator. Enter your test date and weekly hours.
- Find your level with one timed section. A free account includes one full-length adaptive SAT section. Our October 2026 adaptive tests match the real module sizes: 27 Reading and Writing questions in 32 minutes, or 22 Math questions in 35 minutes, per module.
- Work last November's questions in the November 2025 Reading and Writing question bank and the November 2025 Math question bank. Each bank splits into sections by test domain, such as Information and Ideas or Algebra, so you can drill the weak one.
- Finish with our newest banks, named for the October 3, 2026 test: October 2026 Reading and Writing and October 2026 Math.
- Not ready to pay? Start with the free June 2026 Reading and Writing question bank.
The week before the test, sign in to Bluebook to finish exam setup and get your admission ticket. College Board's November page lists this step. Do it early in the week so you have time to fix a problem.
How we built this page
Every date, deadline, fee and quote comes from College Board pages fetched on October 13, 2026: the dates and deadlines page, the November 7 page, the score release dates page, the test fees and international fees pages, the canceling, changing and registering pages, the fee waiver page and College Board's blog post on score release. We worked out weekdays and day counts from those dates. Facts about The Test Advantage's question banks and adaptive tests come from our database, read the same day. Verified 2026-10-13.
October 2026 SAT scores are out. See what 28 r/SAT students and 12 Test Advantage students scored, who went up, and why about a third of October's Reading and Writing passages repeated earlier tests: October 2026 SAT scores: what Reddit and TTA students got.
