Short answer: standard SAT score reports are typically sent within 5 to 10 business days of your order, according to College Board. Rush reports go out within 1 to 4 business days for an extra fee. After that, each college takes its own time to process them.
Your 4 free score sends
- Each weekend SAT registration lets you send scores to 4 colleges or organizations free.
- Pick them when you register or any time until 9 days after the test.
- Extra reports, or reports ordered later, cost $15 each. Students with a fee waiver get unlimited free reports.
- For SAT School Day, choose your free sends during exam setup or within 3 days after testing.
If you chose recipients when you registered, College Board says they get your scores a couple of weeks after test day.
Timeline from test day to college
| Step | Typical time |
|---|---|
| Scores released to you | 2 to 4 weeks after a weekend test |
| Standard report sent | 5 to 10 business days after you order |
| Rush report sent | 1 to 4 business days after you order |
| College processes it | Varies by college |
College Board sends rush reports two to three days a week, usually Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Standard reports ordered after registration go out once a week, usually on Wednesday. Rush is only available for scores already released, and rush orders cannot be changed or canceled.
Will a college accept a screenshot?
Usually not for the official record. College Board says colleges generally require scores sent directly from College Board. Some schools let you self-report while you apply, then send official scores if you enroll. See our college SAT guides for each school’s policy.
