PsychSAT is a free SAT practice site at psychsat.com. Its tagline is "Master the SAT with Psychology." The site says it applies learning principles such as spaced practice, retrieval practice and interleaving, which means mixing skills in one set.
Two students run it. The founders page names Aseer Zaman and Jarjees Al Jubair, both seniors at Forest Hills High School. They write that they kept "running into paywalls or resources that lacked the quality we were looking for." The home page says donations keep the servers running.
The home page lists these parts:
- Practice questions. "5,000 + SAT-style practice questions."
- Question patterns. "29 repeatable question patterns, taught," in a section it calls Pattern Master.
- Adaptive sets. "Every set starts at a medium Challenge Band. Get a question right and the next one gets harder. Miss it and the next one gets easier." There are 7 bands.
- A tutor. Psychtopus "gives you a hint that points you in the right direction without handing you the answer."
- A Mistakes log. "Every question you miss is saved to your Mistakes log." You write a note and retry it later.
- Full-length tests. They "follow the digital SAT structure: two modules per section with standard timing, review tools, and Desmos built in."
- A study plan and vocabulary practice. You pick your test date and study days, and the plan fills them.
Is PsychSAT really free?
Yes. The home page answers its own question, "Is PsychSAT really free?", with: "Every question, practice test, and adaptive feature is free, with no trial and no card." One limit applies: "the Psychtopus tutor has a daily prompt allowance."
The page also says the site is for "educational use only" and that "we do not guarantee any score." It states that PsychSAT is not affiliated with College Board.
Is PsychSAT good? What to check
PsychSAT is a strong free option for daily, skill-by-skill practice. Its adaptive sets and Mistakes log give you a clear routine. Check three things before you rely on it alone:
See which question types are costing you points
Start with a free mock, free drills, or preview sample questions before using all 45 question banks.
- The questions are SAT-style, not official. The question bank page says the bank "is independent practice and is not an official College Board question bank."
- It is a beta. The methodology page calls PsychSAT "an independent beta product."
- Score estimates are estimates. The practice tests page says "only College Board can issue an official SAT score." The home page adds that its Challenge Bands "are not SAT score predictions."
PsychSAT itself says Bluebook's official practice tests "are worth taking." College Board's Bluebook practice page says full-length practice tests "are scored" and "timed like a real test." For how to use them, read how many practice tests Bluebook has.
Do PsychSAT practice tests match the real SAT?
The format matches. PsychSAT's practice tests page says it "supports the 98-question, 134-minute full path, a 10-minute break, adaptive second modules, review tools, and score estimates." It lists 54 Reading and Writing questions and 44 Math questions.
Those numbers match College Board's structure page: 54 Reading and Writing questions in 64 minutes and 44 Math questions in 70 minutes. PsychSAT also offers practice with 1.5-times or 2-times timing, and notes this "does not grant an official accommodation."
The question content differs. PsychSAT uses independent SAT-style items. Our banks are rebuilt from questions on specific SAT test dates.

What is the main difference?
The main difference is the source of the questions. PsychSAT uses independent SAT-style questions and serves them at your level. The Test Advantage groups questions by test date. The October 2026 Math bank, for example, has 106 questions from that test, sorted by domain, skill and difficulty.
The second difference is cost. PsychSAT is free. The Test Advantage has a free account and a paid Premium plan for the full catalog.
Which should you choose?
- Use PsychSAT if you want free daily practice that adapts after every answer, and you like a Mistakes log and study plan.
- Use The Test Advantage if you want practice sorted by SAT test date, video explanations, or many adaptive section tests.
- Use either with Bluebook. Take College Board's official practice tests too. Our list of free SAT practice tests in 2026 covers them.
