Where are SAT test centers outside the U.S.?
Use College Board's test center search to find centers near you. You choose a specific center when you register.
Some places have their own rules. College Board's international testing policies page says:
- Hong Kong: do not contact the test center. Check the Hong Kong Examinations and Assessment Authority (HKEAA) website instead.
- India and Pakistan: Sunday testing is not available.
- Sanctioned countries and persons: College Board, as a U.S. company, cannot test people under U.S. sanctions unless the U.S. government allows it. It may cancel those registrations and may not refund the payment.
What ID do international students need for the SAT?
Your ID must meet every rule on College Board's SAT ID requirements page. It must be a physical, unexpired photo ID from a government or your current school. It must show your full legal name the same way it appears on your admission ticket, with clear English-language text. Digital IDs and photocopies are not accepted. If you are 21 or older, only a government-issued photo ID works.
If you travel to another country to test, you must bring a valid passport. Several countries have extra rules:
| Testing in | Accepted ID (per College Board) |
|---|---|
| India | Valid passport, a U.S. Department of War Common Access Card (CAC), or a valid Aadhaar PVC card or original Aadhaar letter (no printouts, copies or e-cards) |
| South Korea, Jordan, Thailand, UAE, Vietnam | National ID card from the country where you test, a valid passport from any country, or a CAC |
| Pakistan | Valid passport, a valid Pakistan national ID card, or a CAC |
| Nigeria | Valid passport, a physical National Identity Number (NIN) card, or a CAC |
| Ghana | Valid passport, a valid Ghana Card, or a CAC |
| Nepal | Valid passport or a CAC |
| Hong Kong (HKEAA centers) | Unexpired government-issued photo ID only; school IDs not accepted |
A wrong ID can cost you the test. College Board says you will not get a refund if staff dismiss you for an unacceptable ID.
What device do you need for the digital SAT?
You take the SAT in College Board's Bluebook app. Per College Board's device lending page, you can use a personal or school-managed Windows laptop or tablet, a Mac laptop or iPad, or a school-managed Chromebook. Personal Chromebooks are not allowed.
No device? College Board may lend you one. Register for a test at least 30 days away, then request the device in My SAT at least 30 days before test day. College Board says a request does not guarantee a device.
Are the US and International SAT forms different?
The format is the same: same sections and same timing. On the same date, though, students in the U.S. and abroad can get different test forms, so The Test Advantage rebuilds each one and keeps them in separate banks. Our March 2026 International Reading and Writing Question Bank has 147 questions, and the March 2026 International Math Question Bank has 207. The May 2026 International Reading and Writing bank has 150.
